Carpet fitters & shops · London

How much does Carpet fitters & shops cost in London? (2026 price guide)

Fitting a new carpet in an average bedroom typically costs £200-£400 including underlay and labour, while a whole-house carpeting job usually runs £1,500-£3,500 depending on the number of rooms and carpet quality chosen. Stair and landing carpeting generally costs £300-£600, and carpet-only supply without fitting is often priced at £15-£35 per square metre.

Costs are driven mainly by carpet fibre type, since wool blends cost considerably more than synthetic options, the quality of underlay selected, room shapes and the amount of cutting and joining required, and whether old flooring needs removing and disposing of first. Larger retailers sometimes offer free fitting as part of a supply package.

Measuring rooms precisely and comparing supply-only against supply-and-fit prices from a few retailers usually reveals the best overall deal.
