How much does Flooring fitters cost in London? (2026 price guide)

Fitting engineered wood or laminate flooring typically costs £25-£45 per square metre including labour, while solid hardwood flooring usually runs £45-£80 per square metre. Vinyl or luxury vinyl tile fitting generally costs £20-£35 per square metre, and subfloor levelling or preparation, when needed, often adds £10-£20 per square metre on top.

Prices vary mainly with the flooring material chosen, the condition of the existing subfloor and how much preparation it needs, the total area being covered, and any intricate cutting required around fitted units or awkward room shapes. Fitters affiliated with recognised flooring trade bodies often provide stronger workmanship guarantees.

Measuring the room accurately beforehand and asking for a supply-and-fit quote rather than pricing labour and materials separately can help keep costs down.
