Johnson Flooring Ltd - Carpet & Vinyl Specialists

Johnson Flooring Ltd is a family-run business operated by Richard Johnson, based in Leeds. The business specialises in carpet and vinyl. Richard Johnson has worked on flooring jobs since 1985, with work taking him as far as Inverness and Southampton. During his apprenticeship, he worked on commercial jobs in shopping centres, public houses, hospitals, nursing homes, and small shops. He established an exclusive contract with a Northern housebuilder and carpeted around 15 properties a week at peak times.

In recent years, he has concentrated on the private domestic market. He offers a choose-from-home service with a wide range of samples. He can work from architect's drawings or a plan scribbled on the back of a cigarette packet. He can plan out from measurements supplied by the customer or himself. He can advise on the selection of suitable floor coverings and source them from numerous suppliers.

He is able to fit damp proof membranes, screed latex, plywood, floor hardboard, cushion vinyl, vinyl tiles, carpet tiles, sheet vinyl, Karndean and Amtico style luxury vinyl tiles (LVT), carpet re-adaptions, felt backed carpets, secondary backed carpets, and Axminster or Wilton style carpets. He has full Public Liability Insurance up to £5 million. All of his work is fully guaranteed. He is a member of the Yorkshire Floor Coverings Trades Association. He is a member of The Federation of Small Businesses (Membership No. 2058726). He is a member of NICF (National Institute of Carpet and Floorlayers) Member No.1673.

Domestic projects of every size, from a single landing carpet to flooring a whole bungalow, bring customers to this Leeds carpet and vinyl specialist, and the accounts centre on Richard, whose name recurs throughout. Reviewers describe high-quality workmanship on fitted carpets, stair runners and vinyl, with fiddly jobs around stair rods and landings singled out for careful attention to detail. Accurate quotations and pricing described as fair and competitive feature often, along with guidance on the various products on offer, helping customers choose flooring for living rooms, kitchens, dining areas and bungalows.

Reliability is a recurring theme: Richard is said to arrive when promised and to finish within the agreed timeframe. His friendly, honest manner is valued by those who have him working in their homes, and the tidiness of the finished work is mentioned frequently, with no mess left behind. Repeat custom is common, with households returning over many years and recommending him to family and friends, while smaller tasks, such as refitting a rolled-back carpet or lifting old vinyl to reach cables, are taken on without hesitation. The appearance of the completed floor is the point that keeps clients returning.
