Tapi Carpets & Floors in Reading is praised most often for its fitting teams, including Louis and Harrison, and Steve, Ben and Tyler, described as professional, efficient and happy to give aftercare advice on carpet and vinyl flooring beyond the installation itself. Fitter Andy is mentioned repeatedly by name for tidy, reliable work on stair runners and bedroom carpets, and in-store staff including Danny, Lee Oliver and James are credited with good advice and sorting out finance or ordering mistakes. Set against this, more than one reviewer describes inconsistent customer service on the shop floor itself, with one customer praising a helpful colleague but describing another staff member as rude and dismissive. As a carpet shop in Reading, Tapi Carpets & Floors holds a 4.2-star average from 223 Google reviews.

After our chat I had a browse around looking at the big carpets at the back of the shop and asked a worker ( not danny ) a simple question and his attitude towards me was absolutely awful I assume he was going home and finished for the day because he had a rucksack on with sunglasses vile little boy and very very rude did not want to help me at all so I thought right that’s it if that’s how Tapi staff treat me I will take my money elsewhere. Very unfortunate because Danny gave me such a nice welcome
Louis and Harrison did an outstanding job fitting our flooring. From start to finish, they were a fantastic duo, professional, efficient, and genuinely friendly. They took the time to explain everything clearly, which made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. What really stood out was how helpful they were beyond just the installation. They offered practical advice on how to maintain the flooring and avoid potential issues in the future, which was incredibly valuable. Their attention to detail and pride in their work really shows in the final result. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone, top-quality work and great people to have around.
I bought carpets from this store. The staff were helpful and informative. Finance options were great. Install was good. There was a mistake in the ordering/buying process but they took full responsibility and fixed everything after a short investigation. Would recommend this store.
Louis and Harrison came to fit our floor today. They were polite, helpful, gave really useful advice above and beyond they needed to. They have done a wonderful job! Would 100% recommend to anybody
Lee Oliver went above and beyond to help sort out an earlier installation date after the John Lewis branch let us down. He was professional, friendly, helpful and very understanding. I recommend this store over the John Lewis one for sure! Ask for Lee!
Excellent service, James communicated with me and we discussed how best to split the dining room carpet and kitchen area vinyl. Top man and great service above and beyond expectations!
Tapi Carpets has a fantastic range of products, I was really impressed with several designs for a doorway and two bedrooms. Unfortunately, the customer service during my visit let the experience down. One member of staff was clearly doing her best to assist customers, but another appeared disengaged and remained focused on her emails throughout the 25 minutes we were in the store. We weren’t approached or acknowledged, and when my partner tried to ask a question at the desk, he was unfortunately ignored. It’s disappointing, as the store itself and the product range are both great. However, this experience has made me hesitant to return to this branch, and it’s affected my overall impression of Tapi Carpets.
