A 1 Carpets

Do not use this company. I DONT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE They inspected my floors on 4th December and stated on receipt/job sheet that there was no silicone on floor when there was as floors been like it over 10 years. On day of fitting the owner turned up and within minutes refused to do the job based on silicone on floor(that was done by fitters wife). As he leaves I say what about money already paid for flooring he replied "I'll give you 2 quid". I paid 1190.00 its been 8 months they ignore the courts and all communications. I can see from previous reviews they have done similar before. This shop cant be trusted as they require payment 7 days before fitting which maybe standard but you may never see ypur money again if you use this shop. They then changed a supply and agreed fitting to a collection arrangement, all of this because of the major flaw stating I had no silicone. After refusing to do the job and taking my money they called police claiming I was aggressive and intimidating but yet the shop would not hand over their cctv which would have proved that they lied to police. In doing all this they even blocked a refund chargeback from bank. Avoid this business. I have even obtained a CCJ against the business which they also ignored. They did not even put in a defense to the above claim. Stay away and avoid if ypu want to keep your money safe or only pay by credit card and read receipts on fitters part at bottom as that is when they commit the fraud

I have experienced the most shocking customer service ever. After misunderstanding about floor preparation, the owners refused to do the fitting job completely; shouted at me and my partner, asked 'to get out of their shop', refused to give an invoice for the carpet that I have paid for in advance, blocked my mobile number so I couldn't contact them, and made it as difficult as possible for me to recover the goods I paid for. Reported to Trading Standards and police, but I decided not to go to court as not worthy - after all, they are the ultimate loser, as they lost our custom and their reputation. I found another local company, and got a fantastic service from them, a little cheaper than 1A Carpets, and fully professional. Giving 1 star as I can't give 0.

We cannot thank Jade and Stuart enough !! Upon entering the shop Jade was so friendly and welcoming. The help and advice was second to none. Then today Stuart fitted the carpet. He worked nonstop and such a fantastic finish. 5 star plus from us! Thank you both so much.

Jade was a pleasure to deal with. We were booked in for measuring and fitting very quickly. Stu the fitter did the whole house on his own in a day, and the quote we got was less than expected, which included removal of old carpets. Highly recommended!

A1 carpets have been excellent today. One bit of advice I would like to pass on - please let them measure what you need, my measurements were out slightly, I learned, so they had a slightly tougher job than it ought to have been. He took the time to explain how I should have measured for landing spaces, so always check. Although, this challenge did showcase his experience and workmanship, left a very professional finish. I am very pleased!! Thankyou!

Have had carpets from here before recently moved to a new house phoned the lovely Jade who came round and measured everywhere ( the whole house)that I needed carpet and flooring for. I went into the shop about a week later and chose carpet and flooring from their extensive range.Jade was clear on suitability and price and arranged fitting on convenient days. Stuart came round when arranged and did a fantastic job carpets,bathroom and utility floor was fitted perfectly even hid electrical wires under the underlay so the carpet is flat and skimmed the floor in bathroom to get the best finish. So happy with this company would highly recommend!.

We recently had a stairs and hallway carpeted and TLC flooring layed in our dining room. This is the 2nd time we have used A1 and I would not hesitate in recommending them. Extremely helpful, reasonable price, hardworking, expertly installed.
