Perhaps we were just unlucky, but our experience is very different to most of the posts below. We were looking for a new carpet for our hall, stairs and landing for a three story house. So a fair portion of carpet was needed and we wanted a really good fit, given the work and effort that we put into decorating. We visited a couple of places before deciding on Flooring Superstore. The showroom experience was pretty good and we looked at a couple of carpets and eventually found one that we thought would be suitable. We were very specific about the fitting, to make sure it was high quality and were told that the fitters worked direct for the company. Therefore giving additional assurance with regard to any comeback, in case things weren’t quite right. The initial measuring survey by the carpet fitter was a positive experience and he seemed to really know what he was doing. Things then started to turn south, we had to store 2 5m rolls of carpet for several days in our house which is highly unusual. It’s not something we have ever had to do with other carpet companies. On the day of fitting although the main fitter turned up, he had two apprentices with him and halfway through the day the main fitter went to measure up another property leaving the two apprentices to do the majority of the work. Once completed, it was evident that the carpet was baggy/creased on the vertical stairs and also was damaged in several places. The fitter did return (after not turning up once without any prior notice), but arrived at 5 pm on Friday night and you can imagine how thrilled he was to be there. He managed to glue some sections down really tightly while others in the light appear to still be baggy/creased, his attitude also left a lot to be desired. We relayed our dissatisfaction back to the head office and after another two months a second fitter turned up. He agreed that section were damaged and admitted that the carpet shouldn’t be baggy/creased after this amount of time and any creases should’ve fallen out. It appears though that there was some miscommunication shall we say, when we spoke to head office we were told that the second carpet fitter had advised that there was nothing wrong that the carpet and that it was within spec. We were offered approx 10% discount by the company and after five months we are still in dialogue with the finance company, given our continued dissatisfaction with the end result. I would avoid avoid avoid.

We visited the store on 26th January, selected our flooring, and made one very clear request that fitting be completed before the end of February. We were reassured multiple times that this would absolutely be possible. Now it’s the first week of March and neither the LVT nor the carpets have been fitted. We trusted this store and planned our move based on their assurance. We even gave notice on our previous house for the end of February. To prepare for a quick installation, we removed all existing carpets and now we are left without proper flooring, struggling with furniture storage and even basic things like sleeping comfortably. This situation is extremely stressful and completely unacceptable. We planned everything around the timeline promised to us, and the lack of delivery and communication has been very disappointing.
