Shop staff were helpful with the selling but United use independent carpet fitters who provide the most basic service possible, leave a mess and demand cash payment. So firstly read the small print, the fitters will not remove the old carpet or underlay nor will they remove anything from site. They expect the customer to dispose of all off cuts of new carpet and to clean up after them (in addition to the room where carpet is being fitted they will not clean up any mess they create elsewhere, which for me was the hall, stairs and landing). They look finish the job as quickly as possible and in my experience we're extremely rude when I asked them to clean the mess they created (which they refused to do). They then threatened to take up the new carpet and underlay if I did not pay immediately there and then. Dreadful way to conduct business. I would suggest that as United can't be bothered to provide an all inclusive service that you look to use a local independent firm who care about the job they do and will rightly get repeat business (a mistake I won't make again). When I reported to United Carpets they couldn't give a flying monkeys and put the blame on the fitters!
