Do not use. Diabolical customer service. Quoted me for 46% more carpet and 40% more underlay than I needed, knowing that I was on a time crunch. 25% would be reasonable for wastage on the carpet and 10% for underlay. Then when I queried why and asked for a requote, they said I would need to speak to Ian, but no I couldn't have his number and they couldn't say when he would call back. Still have not heard. The quote only lasts for 2 days. Why would anyone do that if they had confidence in their products and services? They just want you to make a rash decision. You will see from my reviews that this is my first and only bad review. I simply have never experienced a company this bad.
Been here so many times, came in on New Year’s Day for a carpet, was in and out in about 20 minutes. Always helpful, professional and great prices.
I had a really great experience with this company from start to finish. They supplied the carpet and arranged the fitting, and the whole process was smooth and professional. The team were very helpful and friendly, and the original fitting was done to a high standard. After the fitting, we had some electrical work done in the house and unfortunately the carpet had to be lifted and was put back very badly by the electrician. I contacted the company, explained the situation, and they were incredibly understanding and supportive. They arranged for the fitter to come back out and refit the carpet properly. The fitter was absolutely fantastic — a real star. He did an excellent job, took great care, and made sure everything was perfect again. I’m very impressed with the level of customer service and how quickly they resolved the issue. I would highly recommend this company for their quality products, professionalism, and outstanding after-sales support.
I went into the store for carpet for my stairs, landing and front porch, I had all my measurements but needed the carpet cut into smaller pieces so I could manage to get them home and lay down myself, and the young guy on the desk, if I remember rightly his name was Lee, what an absolute star, he took it upon himself to work it all out and take it in the back to cut it into manageable pieces, with out him doing this I wouldn't have been able to do it, he brought it all out and helped me get it in my car, it's nice to know there are still people who will go that one step further, even if it's not their job, (and cutting it into smaller pieces for me wasn't his job) so thankyou so much it is really appreciated and the carpet looks fab.
Not great really, started well but ended with us wasting 2 weeks waiting for a quote that never came. The guy measuring came and said I would have a quote in a couple of days. Over week later nothing so we rang up and was told they hadn't sent it yet and would do it asap. Another few days and still nothing. Clearly don't care. Got an independent in quoted same day and arranged fitting within the same week. Stick to your independents.
Misleading Price Match Promise & Frustrating Experience I visited Tapi Carpets after seeing their “we’ll beat any quote” promise. I brought a full written quote from a store on Endike Lane for Royal Prestige carpet at £15/m², with 10mm underlay and all details itemised. To make it simple, I asked Tapi to quote me for Vivaldi Cloud at £14.99/m² — actually 1p cheaper per square metre. The salesperson said they couldn’t match it because they “don’t sell Royal Prestige.” I explained I wasn’t asking for the exact brand — just something of equivalent quality and price. That’s the whole point of a price match. Instead, they quoted me £100 more, after a long and frustrating back-and-forth between the sales rep and their manager. I went back to the original Endike Lane store and asked them for a quote on Vivaldi Cloud. The owner explained that carpet retailers often rename similar products so customers can’t easily compare prices. If that’s true, it’s dishonest and defeats the purpose of a price promise entirely. Tapi’s price match policy feels like empty marketing. Be cautious — the promise is not as simple or genuine as it sounds.
I want to give a 3-in-1 review to each section of Hull Tapi Carpets & Floors. SALES PERSONNEL : Lee, who helped us choose the right product for our needs in both quality and cost. He was extremely helpful & professional, providing printed estimates for 2 different products. Tina, who helped with a query we had when we called in-store and Lee was away at the time. She answered our query in a friendly and professional manner. HOME CONSULTANT: Ian, arrived on time and brought samples to view for our kitchen through to the hallway. He was professional & polite and gave us advice on the product and also showed us digital pictures of what it would look like when laid. FITTERS: Dale & Shane, arrived on time and set about the task in hand. We knew beforehand that the job would take 3 days, as the floor needed levelling off before new flooring laid. They both were professional, polite and were very respectful of our home. Their workmanship is excellent. We can honestly say that everyone we came into contact with at Hull Tapi Carpets & Floors, has excellent Customer Service skills. First impressions count and we would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you so much.
