T J Merritt Carpets & Flooring

T J Merritt Carpets & Flooring is a carpet fitting and flooring shop based in Sileby, Leicestershire. Established in 2003, the company supplies its own sourced carpets, vinyls and laminates to domestic and commercial customers in Leicester, Leicestershire and the East Midlands. It offers a fully insured carpet fitting, vinyl fitting and laminate fitting service, and provides a lifetime guarantee on all labour. The company also offers a shop at home service, bringing samples and flooring products to customers.

It supplies flooring accessories from leading manufacturers such as gripper, underlay and door plates. Sub floor preparation, including hard/ply boarding and latex screeding, is available. Additional services include carpet binding/rug making, furniture removal, disposal of flooring waste, re-stretching, adaptations and collection of flooring from other retailers or locations. The company holds major accounts with leading manufacturers and wholesalers around the country.

T J Merritt Carpets & Flooring takes its name from the fitter customers deal with, Tim, and the feedback collected here focuses on how he works as much as on the finished floors. Customers around Sileby describe carpet, laminate and stair carpet installations, often covering several rooms in one visit, and a point made in several accounts is that Tim turns up at the agreed time, confirms the appointment in advance and keeps the household posted on his arrival.

Advice is given without pressure, with samples brought along so colours and types can be compared in the home before anything is chosen. The standard of the fitting itself is described as high, whether in a lounge, dining room, stairs, landing or bathroom, and the work is left tidy and completed efficiently. Reviewers also note the value of the service, including collecting materials that had been ordered from elsewhere.

Tim is named as polite, friendly and easy to have around, and customers say they would ask him back for further rooms. A recurring theme is that no sales pressure is applied and honest opinions are offered instead, which customers say gave them confidence in choosing him over larger retailers. Satisfaction extends beyond the day of fitting, with one customer remarking that the new flooring still pleases them a month later.
