The company specialises in the fitting, sanding and sealing, and restoration of all types of hardwood flooring. It offers a supply and fit service or a fitting-only option, and provides free estimates and a no-pressure choose-at-home service. It uses only the highest quality solid wood and engineered flooring. A wide variety of wood species is available, including American, European or English Oak, Maple, Beech, Walnut, Cherry, Iroko, Jatoba, Merbau, Teak and Mahogany.

Floors can be fitted in patterns including herringbone, basketweave, brick, random, chevron, diagonal with bespoke borders, inlays and matwells. J.D Hardwood Flooring serves South Manchester and Cheshire, including areas such as Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Cheadle, Chorlton, Gatley, Stockport, Altrincham, Sale, Northenden, Hale Barns, Heaton Moor, Heaton Mersey, Didsbury, Bowden, Bramhall, Mobberley, Wythenshawe, Burnage, Withington, Urmston, and Heaton Chapel. Its main services include hardwood floor fitting, sanding, restoration, and commercial hardwood flooring.

Sand-and-varnish work on pine boards, oak floors and parquet recurs in feedback for this Manchester floor refinishing service, with customers describing hallways, landings, lounges, bedrooms and entire ground floors. John, named in the majority of accounts, comes across as consultative, talking through finishes and options and working willingly around particular requests such as edging details. His depth of experience in the trade is linked by several reviewers to a high standard of craftsmanship and results that brighten and transform tired boards.

Punctual arrival day after day, swift replies to enquiries, steady communication through the job and the ability to fit in work at short notice are common threads. Fair and competitive pricing is mentioned alongside satisfaction with the finished surface, and tidiness on site is remarked upon just as regularly. The revival of creaking floorboards, the rescue of an oak floor after an earlier attempt at sanding, and a newly laid parquet floor in a lounge that surpassed expectations stand out. Small issues that surfaced were met with prompt solutions. What lingers is the impression of a craftsman who clearly enjoys doing a good job and whose company clients value while he is in their home.
