Art of Flooring

Art of Flooring fitted engineered flooring to our stairs. The finish is reasonable, but the fitter (John) had a poor attitude and the company completely brushed off our complaint, even with video evidence. Examples of his poor attitude included: 1. John seemed to have difficulty hearing information from a woman and I had to ask my partner to delay going to work in order to communicate with him on a number of occasions. This is incredibly frustrating as I work in construction so I’m better informed to manage the work. 2. He debated the spec of the job with us, until we pointed out that we had it in writing. 3. He promised to check options with us before fitting. That didn’t happen. 4. The cost of the job in part is based on the number of days it will take. John clocks off generally between 2 and 3pm. The longest he stayed was 3:30. It appeared from my perspective that time could have been managed differently and the job could have been done quicker. 5. One day he just didn’t show up. This is fairly irritating as both my partner and I had rearranged our scheduled in order to accommodate him. 6. John seems to have a lack of appreciation for other people’s safety and security - He tended to just go for lunch without giving us a heads up, leaving my garage open to the world and a key in our front door. Fairly thoughtless given I have a baby in my arms. 7. He came to do the finishing touches to our floor after we had provided to Art of Flooring feedback on his customer service. He shouted at my husband and stormed off. He accused us of being aggressive, however I made sure to record the conversation as I could tell something would happen from his demeanour. I offered to send this to Art of Flooring and they are uninterested and stated that he has provided good customer service elsewhere. I have not actually received any acknowledgement nor apology for how we’ve been treated during this work. I’m sure they will now come back with something publicly but the attitude behind closed doors is different.

We have had LVT and a runner fitted by the Art of Flooring team. From the first moment we walked into the show room and met with Phil we knew we were in good hands. Phil guided us through our options and helped us make the right choice for our situation. The fitters were all excellent with a keen eye for detail and did a fantastic job. We will be back for more flooring in the future and can fully recommend

We recently bought a house and wanted to change the carpeted floors to solid wood floors. Darren at Art of Flooring was extremely helpful as we were completely new to renovating a house, let alone wooden floors. We were shown different options, and given lots of advice on what was available. Darren was very friendly, easy to talk to, and open to all our questions, even going the extra mile to bring samples to our home when we were too busy to visit the store. The process of getting our new wooden floor fitted was also very smooth. John was very friendly and did an amazing job installing the floor, and we are very pleased with the end result! We could see how dedicated the team was to getting the job done well. Cannot recommend them enough!

Art of Flooring have just finished installing LVT in our hallway, dining room and living room. From our showroom visit, to home survey, quote and installation, everything has been like clockwork. Our fitter, Karl, was outstanding and I really can't praise him enough. Always on time, he was meticulous in his work, making sure everything was done properly. He tidied away at the end of each day and made sure everything was done to our satisfaction. The attached photos are a testament to his work. At completion we received a phone call from Darren to ensure that we were happy and satisfied with the job which was a nice personal touch. Overall we are so happy that we chose Art of Flooring and would thoroughly recommend them.

Art of Flooring have recently completed their second job for us – this time the installation of engineered hardwood flooring in our large lounge. Once again, communication with the company was excellent from initial visit to their showroom, to quote, to lead up and during installation. The work started on the agreed date, was completed on time and caused us no stress at all. Our fitter, John, was very helpful and tidy and his workmanship is of the highest quality. He managed to undercut our large expanse of existing skirting board causing almost no damage to the paintwork and cut around the many ‘fiddly bits’ of the room with precision. We are very pleased with our finished floor and would highly recommend both Art of Flooring and John.

My husband and I were very pleased to have dealt with Art of Flooring again, previously used for carpet fitting, this time for a new bathroom floor. From the advice and recommendations we received on visiting the showroom, the clear communication throughout, to the skilled fitting and final result of a bright and fresh new floor we are very happy indeed. Karl was a very skilled craftsman in carrying out the laying. Especially because the floor beneath an old painted parquet floor which needed lifting was 'a messy uneven mosaic' of different materials and glues, now covered by board, ontop of which we chose Harvey Maria Heritage squares. They perfectly match the newly painted blue of the bath panel and ceiling, and gives a whole new chic look to what was the least appealing room in our bungalow. Thoroughly recommend Art of Flooring, and so good to be local.

Brilliant experience every step of the way. Having read the reviews here, and running through various options with Phil (who couldn’t have been more accommodating and informative throughout), I decided to have all of the flooring for my flat (carpet, LVT, and engineered wood) fitted through Art of Flooring. Absolutely no regrets! Fitters Brett, Carl, and John did an absolutely fantastic job and I couldn’t be happier with the result!
