Flooring Restoration Services

I would absolutely recommend Rob to anyone who is looking to have their wood floors restored. We live in a Victorian terraced house with original pine floors. There were lots of gaps between the boards and we wanted the floors to be sanded and re-lacquered to give them a new lease of life. The quote from Rob was really reasonable, he turned up on time everyday, communicated well with us, was tidy and professional and we're delighted with the end results.

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience with this company, Rob was friendly enough but the end result on our engineered floor is far from satisfactory. The floor now has white lines running across the room at equal distance and looks like sanding marks from the machine he used, Rob did offer to come back but the upheaval of moving all the furniture again and spending another day camped out in another room is something we are unwilling to do. A lot of money for not a great job which is unfortunate as we like employing local companies. Rather a sarcastic reply to my review, you would have noticed it was not just movement of furniture but the whole day camped out in another room, I did mention you were willing to return and as you can see the problem is real hence the truthful review.

I can’t believe the process was so smooth and easy from start to finish. The team arrived when they said they would. Wood floors look fantastic after the restoration. The team worked cleanly and efficiently, leaving absolutely no mess behind and it was all done in 1 day. Professional, careful, and genuinely impressive work.

A magnificent two-header effort from Rob, Terry and Bill from Flooring Restoration Services. The first part of the project was to parquet the back room, three-quarters of which was a cement base from an earlier extension, the other quarter the end of the original back room, the blocks of which were removed for the later second job. This was done with reclaimed blocks from another local house. The team returned later to do the second job which involved replacing the old concreted fireplace hearth in the long front room, and the remaining concrete base from the original dividing wall, which they lined with the blocks from the first job, also now beading narrow strips so the parquet will have a snug look under the new skirting boards, and sanding and lacquering the original parquet floor, which had probably not seen the light of day since the 1950s. If you have original parquet, or even good condition pine flooring, get that horrific linoleum, carpet or tongue and groove muck up and let the original wood shine forth. Bring your downstairs rooms to life… Next step for me - some rugs to put in front of the remaining fireplace… MJG November 2025
